The Deerfield is an historic building located at 676 Riverside Drive in Harlem, New York.

The D.T.A is a non profit association. The mission of the Deerfield Tenants' Association is to present a united voice of the Deerfield tenants, preserve the integrity of this historic building, and provide support to all tenants who are not getting the services they are entitled to from the management/ownership of our building.

D.T.A works directly on building wide issues, however we are happy to provide recommendations to tenants for their particular circumstances, as well form alliances with other tenant's associations to exchange experiences and information.

Living in New York can be a enjoyable experience if you like like a fast paced life. However there are some things that you will want to know about living in New York that can make you living there much easier and less stressful thinking about the weekend unwinding over wine at a pub. There are so many ways to make your day to day life easier if you know up front the best way to navigate the city. For example transportation. Getting around from place to place within New York can be a major challenge. The most economical and easiest way is public transportation. There are buses, trains, and subways which are all excellent modes or traveling through the city. The most cost effective option for paying for public transportation is the Metrocard it is quick and easy, and it is accepted for all New York City Subways or Buses.

The most affordable payment option is the 30-day unlimited use Metrocard for seventy-six dollars. If you take the train just for going to and from work full time five days a week alone , you can easily save a minimum of twenty dollars a month but you'd end up needing stretch mark removal soon enough. This is assuming you only went to and from work and nothing else which is highly unlikely. It is more realistic that you would save upward of more like forty to fifty dollars.

If you prefer a less crowded way to Travers the city but do not want to deal with the traffic you may want to consider a taxi service. Yellow Cabs which are literally yellow are the only taxi service with metered rates although you can expect to pay a addition surcharge during prime hours which start at 8p.m. each evening. There are also other taxi services that are not metered these are called Gypsy Cabs they do not have metered rates, this can be a plus as you should know the cost of your trip up front. If you negotiate a fee for the ride with the driver before the trip begins, you may obtain a better rate, and you may not. A last important note about is that taxi drivers are not always experts of driving directions to Dublin you would potentially expect them to be. It would be likely best for your interests to know how to get to where you are wanting to go when you get in the cab.

The last piece of transportation advice that can be given is to get a good map of the city and carry it with you until you know your way around the city. The final recommendation for transportation is that if you are going to the Newark or JFK airports consider using the air train However when transferring to or from the Air Train, make sure to observe the signs over each track. If you are unable to figure out the train that will take you where you want to go, ask someone. It is possible that you may get on the wrong train because both stop at the same place however one goes to Newark the other to JFK and Tree Service in the Portland area. Once you have taken the air train a couple of times, it will become second nature to you as A wholesale general merchanidiser in the district. So do not be afraid to ask as it will in the long run save you time & frustration the first time to ask.

The new ownership of the building, is disrupting the lives of the Deerfield tenants with the hope to driving them out. Read below about one of NYC's 10 Worst Landlords, Margaret Streicker Porres of Newcastle Realty Services.
The building was without gas from August 23rd 2006 until March 2007, there were holes in our apartments and mercedes grill, dust, asbestos, lead paint, intermittent hot water, broken elevators, broken doors, the repairs have been slow and inconsistent, far from the leisures in Petersburg.
